Welcome

Welcome to the Moore v. Sprint Communications L.P and Willams Communications, LLC settlement website. This website has been established to provide information regarding a Settlement in a class action involving land next to or under railroad rights of way where Sprint, Qwest, and WilTel Communications (hereinafter Defendants) have installed Telecommunications Facilities (such as fiber-optic, copper, or coaxial cables for the transmission of voice or data). The Settlement resolves litigation over whether the Defendants had the right to install Telecommunications Facilities within the railroad rights of way without the consent of people who own land next to or under the rights of way.

The Settlement will pay qualifying landowners’ claims and provide the Defendants certain telecommunications easement rights in the rights of way.

The Court approved the Settlement on November 18, 2011, and it became final on December 18, 2011.  Claim forms were mailed to eligible property owners on January 17, 2012.  The only way to get a payment from the Settlement is to submit a Claim Form.

The claims period ended on May 16, 2012.  While it is not possible to state when compensation will be paid with absolute certainty, Settlement Class Counsel currently project that compensation for complete and valid claim forms could be mailed as early as February, 2013.  This projection will be revised if more information becomes available.  Please visit this website periodically for any further updates.
